With the DataCore Software Defined Storage solution SAN-Symphony-V, heterogeneous physical storage systems are pooled into one virtual storage infrastructure. SAN-Symphony-V is based on the idea of abstracting the physical storage array and pooling together its capacities.

Software features

This enables you to manage all storage services from one single point of control in a scale-out architecture. Services such as provisioning, orchestrating and monitoring and reporting as well as reporting can be managed from a central location for each storage device. Besides standardizing services across several storage tiers, features that are usually reserved for enterprise systems, are provided for all storage arrays and standard systems.

All features can be implemented with SAN-Symphony-V regardless of the storage system vendor. Intelligent caching and tiering mechanisms are deployed to significantly enhance the performance of existing hardware by using SAN-Symphony-V.

At the core of a modern data centre storage infrastructure is the migration of data with transparent failover even beyond data centre limits. The asynchronous replication of data at another location is also possible for disaster recovery scenarios. Despite its complexity and array of features, the software is easy to use. Datacore SANsymphony-V can be installed on physical servers as well as on virtual machines. The license is based on the storage system managed by Datacore. The most important features such as caching, pooling, mirroring, snapshots are all included. QoS and extensive reports as a basis for chargeback and realtime performance matrices enable you to monitor the system at all times. Monitoring and proactive error management as well as 24x7 support avert any potential downtimes.
