NEC announces strategic partnership with transtec AG in high performance computing
NEC Deutschland GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Europe, and transtec AG, a leading German provider of high performance, supercomputing systems, announced today the signing of a reseller agreement in order to extend their strategic partnership in high performance computing (HPC).
This cooperation will offer a comprehensive HPC solution proposition that combines transtec’s in-depth knowledge of HPC with NEC’s global market presence, as well as its scalar and vector products with a strong future roadmap.

transtec plans to integrate NEC’s products into its HPC and services portfolio, including NEC’s innovative heat tolerant x86 server, hybrid solutions made of scalar and vector components, the flexible storage-infrastructure GxFS (a GPFS-based storage appliance), and LxFS, the Lustre-based appliance. HPC is an indispensable tool for organizations, providing the computational ability to solve complex problems, gain competitive advantages and analytical insights from massive amounts of data in many areas of science and production, such as academia, weather and climate, bio-science, pharmaceuticals and the automotive industries.
